"New Hampshire is a really beautiful state no matter what time of year you go. So much to do year round.  I stayed at the Anchorage cottages in Tilton, NH. The accomodations were clean as just as the website said, fishing and swimming and canoe fun.  We played horseshoes, ping pong,  volleyball or just layed out in the sun on chaise lounges. On rainy days we either sat on the screened in porches and played boardgames or cards or we went to the recreation room and played games, did puzzles, or read a nice book.  Very homey and comforting.  The people are so nice and willing to help.  Just loved it.  A real family place, a great way to bring the family back together. The Anchorage at the Lake has 3 sandy beaches on beautiful Lake Winnisquam in the heart of the Lakes Region, it has a huge sundeck, paddle boats and canoes, even a kayak  for no extra expense. The nights are so restful, you can hear the crickets and night birds, the leaves rustling in the trees, it is a magical place for sure. In the Mornings you hear the loons on the lake and the smell of bacon and eggs wafts through the morning mist. It is really incredible. During the day you can lay on beaches in lounge chairs or on the sundeck that sticks out over the water. There are lots of woodland paths, an orchard and wild Concord grape vines. You'll even see a bald eagle that nests on the property. As for the fishing, they have 5-12 pound lunker bass and almost every other kind of fish imaginable. They even host the Bass tournaments and have weigh-ins there Spring and Fall.  This property has a new website which can be found at www.anchorageatthelake.com.  Reservation requests can be made directly through the website.

You can bring your own boat and for a really small fee you can dock it right there. You are right in the midst of Lakes Region so you have malls, family places like mini-golf and movies to see. You will have an incredible time and  kids and grand-kids will love the huge grassy field to play baseball in and the swings and slide area hit too.

There are some pretty tall fish tales and legends on this lake the Hairy trout and the Saddlefish are to to really big ones.

This is a seasonal vacation spot.
